If you have to have your password reset, then when you sign into your Chromebook, it will prompt you to unlock your data. Chances are you don't remember your old password. Follow these directions to erase the local encrypted data and download it fresh from Google.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Enter your Google login credentials i.e. jdoe@sw.wednet.edu and click Next
  2. Enter your new password and click Next
  3. At the unlock and restore your local data screen, click Forgot your old password?
  4. At the all local data will be lost screen, Click Proceed anyway

    Our Chromebooks are setup to save to Google Drive by default. So no data should be lost by clearing local data.
