This function allows you to send a confidential document to the printer with an access code.

This means that the document will not print until you are at the machine and enter this code. The code is up to the individual and can change every time you use the function.

Additionally, you can send a document to the printer to print later or to change the output settings such as paper color, duplex, etc.

Step-by-step guide

Private Printing is available on the following copiers:

  • DO 106 Copier
  • ES 410 Copy Room Copier (Dale)
  • ES 410 Copy Room Copier (Chip)
  • HS 424 Copy Room Copier
  • PS D105 Copier.

It is only available from your district supplied computer.

To access Private Printing all the time:

  1. Open Settings from the Start Menu
  2. Click on Devices
  3. Click on Printers & Scanners
  4. Click on copier you want to manage
  5. Click Manage
  6. Click on Printing Preferences
  7. Click on the Job tab, and click the Job storage (e-MPS) icon.
  8. In the Type list, select Private print.
  9. Select a method for choosing an access code:
    1. If you want to use the same access codes for print jobs, clear Prompt for
      access code, and then type four numbers in the Specify access code box.
    2. If you want to use different access codes for print jobs, select Prompt for
      access code. When you click OK in the Print dialog box, type the access
      code in the Private Print dialog box that appears.
  10. Click OK in all dialog boxes.
  11. Print a document

If you only want Private Printing some of the time:

  1. Prepare a document for printing
  2. Click Print and select the copier
  3. Click on Printer Properties
  4. Click on the Job tab, and click the Job storage (e-MPS) icon.
  5. In the Type list, select Private print.
  6. Select a method for choosing an access code:
    1. If you want to use the same access codes for print jobs, clear Prompt for
      access code, and then type four numbers in the Specify access code box.
    2. If you want to use different access codes for print jobs, select Prompt for
      access code. When you click OK in the Print dialog box, type the access
      code in the Private Print dialog box that appears.
  7. Click OK in all dialog boxes.
  8. Click Print

To print the resulting stored private print job:

  1. At the copier, press the Home button
  2. Press the Job Box button
  3. Select Private Print/Stored Job and press Open
  4. Select your username and press Open
  5. Select the document to print and press Print
  6. Enter the access code you specified above
  7. Specify the number of copies
  8. Press Start Printing
  9. After the job is finished, the stored job is deleted and must be resent to print again
